Exclusive Interview with Upcoming Designer Princess Aderinola Ekanola

2017-01-18 12.16.21 1Ekanola Aderinola Ebunoluwa  fondly called Princess Aderinola Ekanola was born on the 4th of August, 1996 in Lagos State, Nigeria. Aderinola, a fashion enthusiast graduated from the University of Lagos in 2016 with a degree in Human Resource Management and has grown to be an outstanding and consistent designer, hair and skin care personnel and makeup artist. She  loves working and relating with people and sharing ideas on the perception of life’s ups and downs. Solving problems and achieving excellent result are her best life tools. When it comes to anything that matters the most, family comes first. Describing Ekanola Aderinola in one sentence would be ‘ an extrovert and a woman with wonderful qualities’. Making the sense out of ‘sense’ and building a dream in the reality with human consideration  has always been her top priority.  IMG-20170118-WA0033

The birthing of House of PAE which have subunit- clothings, Hair care, accessories,came with the realisation that it isn’t about what I need but what others want. The business was established to meet the basic need and want of the society with focus on the Nigerian youth. The was to fulfil the desire for people to get easy access to trendy  wears, which of course drives the ambition  of House of PAE. Although, the brand is in its teething year and needs lots of nurturing, the brand has released two collections and Presently, deals with prospective customers via online mail and phone calls, delivering orders directly to doorsteps. IMG-20170118-WA0027

Question : What truly makes your brand unique?
Aderinola: The theme of the house says it all.  All that we produce in House of PAE are affordable and definitely classy  IMG-20170118-WA0031

Question: What are the three main things you consider when designing?
Aderinola: I would say, I take into consideration  -The material I’m making use of – the interest of people – and as well making sure there is simplicity and elegance in such design

Question: As an African do you think we have lost our roots to western fashion? Aderinola: I wouldn’t say so actually cause i feel western fashion has  paved way for we Africans to be more innovative with our own African prints

Question : If you were to collaborate with a designer, who will it be and why?
Aderinola: One person I find her work fascinating and would really like to work with is Deola Sagoe all because there is simplicity in every of her designs and are stilI top notch. For me I appreciate simplicity a lot and I believe we are similar creatives.

Question: As a female fashion designer, how do you think you can come up with creative designs for male wears ?
Aderinola: From the onset I always had interest in making men’s cloths cause I’ve for a long time had my reserves on men in suit *classy*, so I thought to myself making good designs for men as well wouldn’t be a bad idea. Top notch designers are always versatile  in creativity no matter the subject

Question: Any upcoming project ?
Aderinola: Yea definitely, this would be showcased probably second week in march, 2016.  I can assure you it’s a very interesting project you should look forward to  cause you wouldn’t be disappointed. My hint for y ou is that PAE is doing more of old school come back
