Adesola Kosoko Abina, a direct descendant of king Kosoko of Lagos, was born and bred in Lagos to the family of legendary actor, producer and director, Prince Jide Kosoko and late Mrs. Abimbola Kosoko on the the 7th of January, in the year 1980.
She attended Methodist Primary School, Sabo Yaba between 1987 and 1992, for her primary education and Aje Comprehensive High School also in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos between 1993 and 1998 for her secondary education. She later attended the Federal College of Education, Akoka, Lagos where she bagged Basic and Advance certificates in Computer Studies. She also received a diploma certificate in Industrial and Labour Relations, a degree in Sociology and also a diploma certificate in Performing Arts at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
After the successful completion of her degree programme, she observed the mandatory one year national service of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) in 2009/2010.
Adesola Kosoko started acting at a tender age through the influence of her father who equally is an actor and a prominent member of the then Association of Nigeria Theatre Art Practitioner (ANTP), Which has now metamorphorsed to Theatre Art and Motion Picture Producer’s Association of Nigeria; the largest umbrella body of practitioners in the motion picture industry in Nigeria.
As a kid actor, she featured in a celluloid film titled Omo Orukan produce by Otunba Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello) in 1987. She however started her acting career fully in 1999 when she featured in a movie titled Ola – Abata produced by her father, Prince Jide Kosoko.
Adesola Kosoko’s gradual accent to limelight however started with her father’s produced movie, Olorire in 2001. This was followed by “Ori” Produced by Muyiwa Ademola and Abesekele by Oga Bello. Since her prominent appearance in these movies, Adesola Kosoko’s journey to stardom has been on a steady upward swing.
She has over the years played prominent leading roles in several blockbuster movies that have gone to become viewer’s favourites. Some of these movies include OBAKEYE, AYE OLOMOKAN, OBA ETO, IPINYA IFE, and ETI KETA just to mention a few.
Her role interpretation activities are not limited to movies of the Yoruba genre alone as she has interpreted roles in English Language based television soap operas. These include the popular TV series, Super Story (Nnena and Friends 2008), Roses and Thorns by Galaxy TV (2003), Valley between by Rockview production on AIT (2012).
Adesola Kosoko, after years of helping to interpret the stories of others decided to join the fray of movie producers with the production of her block buster movie, SINDARA, WOSI KENKE and ESE NI. She’s presently working on another project which will soon be available to the market.
Aside acting, Adesola Kosoko has also ventured into modelling and advertising with her engagement as brand ambassador for products like “KARI GO SWEET” “IMAN MODEST WEAR” “CROWN NATURES HEAD WEAR” “BRADFORD PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY” Her career has also taken her to places outside the shores of Nigeria. These include UK, USA etc.
